DVD to VCD w/out saving to HD

I'm trying to rip to vcd using the method by Dhruv Bhatia in the How To section. On step 6 when I browse on TMPGEnc for the video source and select the .avs file it says "Can not open, or unsupported." The only thing I haven't done exactly as described is step 3 of installation's instruction to "Run TMPGEncVFP_Install.bat" because that file didn't come w/ TMPGEnc. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

No, it won't play on WMP and the suggestions on the TMPGEnc jhelp site do'nt work either. I think the problem is with DVDx. The file is practically empty, only 92 bytes. when I agree w/ the registration w/ DVDx and tell it to "GO" it opens the Premiere Video Service Plugin window, then just sits there and doesn't do anything. I was assuming it was supposed to link w/ the TMPGEnc program first because, after all, this is supposed to work w/ out saving everything to my HD first right???

if it wont' play in wmp ur possibly missing the codec, which is why it wont convert. so download the codec.

I am still wondering if you did run the VFP install.bat??? Even if that is not the problem solver now, not running the vfp install for TMPGEnc will definitely be a major hang up later. You HAVE to install that VFP and should have your movie making files in the same file. At the very least, you absolutely have to have tmpgenc and your vfp file for it in the SAME folder. When I 1st started with this stuff over a year ago, my major hang up was doing this and getting it right. It seems silly now to me, but it was a major hang up to me doing anything in TMPGEnc. Just thought I would ask you if you figured the vfp install so you don't go crazy over it like I did!
