Burners to come??

Hi all. I'm not sure if this has come up in the past but are there any new burners to be released anytime soon? I am looking to buy one and am leaning towards the sony dru500.........because of the dual burn format and also people have said positive things about it after the FW upgrade.

However, I do not want to buy it and then have a new dual format burner come out and be better. Does anyone know of the newest burners to come out and when? Will it be at 4x for awhile? I am planning on buying this within the next month or so.......any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

liteon's and NEC is due out next month i think, however its all still hovering around the 4x mark, i think there's a new sony dru510a due out that does 4x DVDRW and 16x CDRW, but thats about it afaik.

Thanks for the response......i appreciate it. Which one out of those 3 would be of better quality? I dont want something that will break or make costers. Money really isnt an object as long as its not over 500.

I guess the sony would be a good bet seeing as how their dru500 seems to make people happy. Any other thoughts or feelings is greatly appreciated.
