Hi there
I am a fourth year Music tech student at Hudderfield uni in the UK. For my fianl year project I am redoing all the sound for Danger Mouse and encoding it into Dolbly digital. My goal is to create a disk that will play in a DVD player and standard Audio visual decoder on the comsumer market in dolby digital.
I have created an mpeg (which I also have in avi format) and an ac3 file which I want to combine, but cannot find any software to do it for me.
I understand that a vob file is a dvd file - does this have a dolby digital sound track and if it does how do I make one?
I have seen some postings on this website about creating an SVCD with a 5.1 channel sound track but lots of the comments are conflicting!
I have access to a DVD burner (Sony, think it does both + and - fomats)
I have found many programins that will allow me to create things with a strereo sound track but I need it to be Dolby digital
I can either use an ac3 file or I can get 6 separate wav files for the audio.
Can anyone help me... I have searched as much as I can but there just doesent seam to be a program out there to combine them both!
My project has to be in on the 1st of may so I doont have too much time to hang about...!![]()
thanks for your time and help..

1) SpruceUp - by Spruce Technologies (now owned by Apple). No longer sold, but it will accept mpeg-2 and ac-3 files and create your VOB's for authoring to disk.
2) DVDMaestro - again, no longer made, but will do the task.
3) Ulead's DVD Workshop - use TMPGEnc to mux the mpeg-2 and ac3 file to .mpg, then import to DVD Workshop, create menu, link, then burn to DVD.
4) Sonic Foundry's Vegas 4+DVD - DVD Architect is the "authoring" program, but is not sold separately. Kind of expensive, but they offer a big discount for students. You can import the mpeg-2 and ac-3 files in the program and burn.
5) Ulead's DVD Moviefactory 2.0 - other user's have reported (I have not tested) that this prog will also accept a TMPGEnc muxed mpeg-2/ac-3 file. This would be the least expensive alternative.
6) DVDLab by MediaChance - (not released yet) - looks very interesting. I'm not sure it will be released in time for your project, but either way, worth a look.
DVDLab by MediaChance
I'm sure there are others (and some very expensive progs). What is your budget for the program?
