    I've been using Windows Movie Maker and now have a file in DV-avi format.
    I have Xilisoft Video Converter.
    I want to convert my DV-avi so I can burn it to DVD but I'm not sure what format to use.
    Should I just turn it into .vob (which was its original format before I converted for editing in Movie Maker)?

    This is possibly further complicated by the fact that I don't have a DVD burner in my PC. I will be transferring the file over to my friend's Mac and he will burn it to DVD for me. Hopefully, this is possible.

    Thanks.

    Xilisoft = Crap.

    How are you going to transfer it to the Mac ? If you create the DVD structure on your PC, it will potentially be large - up to 4.38 GB. Without a burner that might be hard to transport.

    If you compress the file to make it smaller so you can transport it easier, you will reduce the quality, probably a lot.

    You can always get Flash memory stick 8GB, but it will cost you about twice as much as new DVD burner.
