  1. been trying to convert an rm file to make an avi...my rm file is 666 mg...the result when the conversion is done is 1.75go...i am using eo video...is there a way to have an avi file around 700 mo to 800 mo?

    why does it come so big???

  2. Its all to do with codecs. A 20minute avi file can be 40MB (highly compressed) with one codec, 15GB (uncompressed/ low compression) with another.

    Chances are your .rm file is highly compressed, so there is no point converting to a low compression avi codec - crap in crap out. You should try Divx or Xvid codecs, on low bitrate settings. This way the resulting avi could possibly be smaller, and equal quality to the .rm

    As eovideo is amazingly slow at converting rm to avi, i would use virtualdub to compress the large avi file, (muuuuuuuuuuuuch quicker)

    If this doesnt make alot of sense, scout around this website a bit, read some of the guides, and search on google etc.

    I will help you out if you need, but dont bother asking what a codec is, were to get one or what is virtualdub.
