  1. I've started converting over my 500 DVD collection over to Slimline Cases. I'm just wondering if the disks themselves would have any problems. I don't want to crack any hubs etc, although some keep cases I've used have put more stress on a disk trying to get them out than these Jewel cases. Anyone hear anything?

I've heard that the plastic in those slimline cases reacts with the plastic in the DVD+/-R disks and releases a toxic cloud of hydrogen cyanide gas (this is what gas chambers use). I think that I would stick to paper envelopes!

SLK001 is right. But there is not much need for concern. The hydrogen cyanide gas is produced in small quanities. As long as you play your DVD's in a well ventilated room and refrain from sniffing the hub like you would women's panties, you should have no problem!

Do those cases let light in?
I personaly wouldn't store "burned" DVD's in any case that lets light in after hearing all the complaints about unreadable DVD media after less than a year. Some people compare DVD media by burning different brands and then exposing to sunlight to see which one become unreadable first. So if sunlight can make them fail common sense dictates how to store them.
