Well at least you get a message, whenever I tried a WAV it crashed and shut down - the only hint was the Windows Event Log that said,
"faulting module quartz.dll, fault address 0x00024af5" - I assume its a bug in MC.
I have tried different sampling rates but with the same result - frameserving didn't work either - I have subsequently disarded MC in favour of the CCE encoder. -
thanks man, im stilltrying it and it still wont work.....keep in mind i encoded a short clip...of 700mb...and the time was ih 30 for encoding, ...thats superb timing...i would love if tmpgenc would have this kind of speed...holla back and tell me if you find out if it supports wav files

holla back and tell me if you find out if it supports wav files
CCE certainly does. -
I just went back and had another play with MC and managed to get the WAV option working.
I disbled the 'Direct Show' import module (which appears to be the offending module) and now I can open WAV files and encode without errors.
Click on 'Options' -> 'Import Modules' and disable 'Direct Show Import'.
Let me know if it works for you too. -
man..it still isn't working for me...ill keep trying though, its still telling me "no audio data found"...holla
-
I get that if the'AVI Import' module is disabled - is yours enabled?
-
naw..its disabled..man this program sucks, but the speed is good, thats why imma continue trying

when i check the help files i see that the samew source video is used as the source audio..imma try this, if it doesn't work.....@#$% the program....
-
this program encodes great for me. using the audio source from the video works fine. anyone here know how to encode a svcd using main concept mpeg encoder with 16:9 display....only thing it will let me use is 4:3. also is there a way to get a source range?
-
I just tried it with an WAV file only and it worked for me. When I loaded the WAV file the information pane said "AVI Import" instead of the usual "DirectShow Import" I get with AVI files.
I was using MC 1.3.1, Windows XP SP1, DirectShow 9.0 -
man im so sick of this program...tmpgenc is the @#$%......im following someone else's advice because they said i can use the same video source as my audio source, and it should co out aiight, imma try...after tonight, if i dont get this @#$% working, im removing it from my drive...........plz help me
-
I just re-read my post and it sounds like I am recommending moving to Directx 9.0 Do not move to 9.0 unless you absolutely have to. Some people have experienced MC problems with 9.0. I have not, but other have.

Can you post a little more information? Are you sure that the WAV file is a good file? Can you load it with Goldwave or CoolEdit? What are the file characteristics?
BTW, you could also use TooLame and Toolame GUI to encode Wav into MPEG-2. Its free, see the links in the tool section. I actually think TooLame does a better job to encode MPEG-2 (personal opinion) and I use it when I am just encoding WAV files... -
aiight, i cant do that...i have a certain codecs pack thats running really good now on my comp...and sp1 really @#$%^& me up the time i i nstalled it...ill just stick with tmpgenc
-
Oops, I meant TooLame does a better job encoding MPEG Layer 2 audio. It only does audio.

it causes a "wrong parameter" error while encoding. anyone find out how to get a 16:9 display with an svcd?
