Drop the file into Gspot 2.70 and tell us the audio format. You may not have the proper audio codec installed or Mainconcept doesn't recognize the audio format.

If it's a AVI type file like Xvid or similar, you can probably extract the audio with a program like VirtualDub Mod and convert it to WAV format that most any encoder can use.

    And welcome to our forums.

It happens to me fairly often when I convert PAL VOBs to NTSC. As was noted I simply use VirtualDubMod Surround 1.6.0.0 to save out the audio as uncompressed PCM.

That seems to just be ordinary MP3 audio. Even if it was MP3 VBR audio, MC should have accepted it. VBR might cause sync problems, but should still encode.

Depending on what you want to do with the file, you could use VDM as mentioned before to create a WAV audio and see if MC can accept the WAV file. Optionally for a DVD destination, encode just the video in MC, then take the WAV audio and encode it to AC3 with ffmpeggui or Aften and use that with the encoded MPEG-2 in your authoring program. But where you're at, MPEG-1, layer 2 audio is also acceptable and DVD compliant. Some instruction here for making WAV files with VDM: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=280779

Sometimes when you run into problems encoding the audio and video together, you can separate them and encode separately, then rejoin them afterwards. I use TMPGEnc DVD Author and it accepts separate audio and video streams, as do several other authoring programs.

I haven't used MC in some time. Maybe another member that uses it more often has some ideas.
