Or you guys using your dvd burner for ripping?
Or do you have another dvd rom player for ripping?
I use DVD Decrypter, on Sony dvdrom. And have DRU500ax.
I rip with rom drive, but it's only reading at 1.5-2.2 speed.
Is any other brand, reader faster?
What speed are you reading at?
thanx

The SONY DRU500 is locked for ripping at x1.9 ~ 2.0.
I have a Pioneer 116 DVD-ROM, that is rated at X16 for reading data. It rips at different speeds depending on how clean the DVD-Video is and (more important) if it is a single layer or a dual layer.
With SmartRipper I get an average of X7 speed for ripping with peaks of X12 and some drops to X4.
DVDDecrypter is a bit slower but more reliable.
I have also tried some other DVDs that have been rated slow in tests (BTC for example) and it rips at x1.4 ~ x1.9.The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
