  1. I have seen many posts about forty-two results - success, skipping, stuttering, no .iso file and even some out of sync issues. I am beginning to wonder if the mileage varies between computers.

In regards to DVD to DVD-R, my dual G4 800 had produced a DVD-R that stuttered when played in my DVD player but not on my TiBook. In addition, after updating to 1.5.2b I could only get Forty-two to work once which resulted in 1 .iso file but thereafter any following attempts resulted in locking up my computer and hence, no .iso file. I then decided to try this out on my iMac 800 Flat Panel and it was totally successful (it just took 50% longer). The DVD-R played perfect in my DVD player and TiBook.

So, I'm wondering if the dual processing code is the problem. I didn't see everyones computer configurations but are people with dual G4s having issues and regular iMacs not having any?

  2. I have a g4/400 that produced a jerky dvd with 42 v1.5 with a fairly new toshiba dvd player, but doesn't jerk when playing on a mac.

I tried the same dvd again with 42 v1.5.2b but the second time it didn't produce a .iso file at all, just a .mpg file

Encoding takes about 40 hours... i haven't tried again because it takes too dang long and i've already gone through 3 good dvd-r's
