Hi,
I have recently bought a Teac DV-W50E DVD writer (supposedly 4x DVD-R Writer) . The Firmware is ver 1.10. However, I have used a variety of diff DVD-R / RW media most claiming to be 2x......I have also used a several DVD software copying Programs such as the usual Nero 5.5.10.15a..stomp...DVDCloner....DVDXCOPY all these programs tell me (or indicate by timing / KBs) that I can only write DVD's at 1x.
No problems with writting to CD's the correct speed is reported as advertised.
All the DVD disks used have been tried out on a friends Pioneer A05 DVD writer and all can be written at 2x...I thought the drives were identical? So why can i not write above 1x DVD-R/RW? is a media thing or do i need a firmware update or is the drive faulty? I think I might have been better of with the Pioneer ..lol
Any help would be appreciated.
