  5. Because it's + and Pioneer only handles -. I have no idea why would you want to use + for. + media is expensive that - media -- at least in USA it is.

    Thee may look the same and feel the same but they're simply not the same. They are different formats and you have to get a drive compatible with both if that's what you want. I think Sony makes one.

  8. I always hear people on this site saying how much cheaper -R/W is compared to the +R/W I live in the central US and and it is the +R/W that is cheaper and it is hard to actually find the -R/W. Does it just depend on the area I guess..

  11. Drew and Blacksmith if you check the internet for any discs it will be obvious which is cheaper.. www.meritline.com I thought this post was a yes or no answer..?

    You 2 dont shop at best buy do ya? They have more + because they took sides early and were only selling + drives, they do carry - media but not many options.

    But not + will not work in - drives. They only look the same because its a optical disk/dye format. Just like you can't read DVDs in a CD-Rom.
