I capture using VDub and the Huffyuv codec to shrink the file before converting to mpeg and I wanted to use the Divx codec but don't know how to set it so the quality is the same as Huffyuv. Can anyone help me figure out the settings? Thanks.

my friend has great success on a slower (600mhz) computer running win98se using divx4 with the '1-pass quality based' setting. you could try using the highest bitrate with this setting. It may not look as good on the monitor as the huffyuv codec because the compression is alot higher, but looks very good when played as vcd/mpg on the tv.

I tried that on a small clip and the quality did seem good. I was just wondering about all the other settings and whether they would make it even better. Thanks.
