Is it possible for Kai or Major to add this feature to DivX?
I think then we would have ACTUAL DivX CD's.( 1 or 2)

I have been doing tests with both FF and 42.
FF seems to go way, way, way over the specified bitrate
42 seems to just not get it.

I am trying to take *My Cousins Weding* and make it to 2 cd's.
The stuff I download seems to be the perfect size, and hella good quality.

That is a mencoder problem (or so it seems to me). If you tinker with it enough you will get a file you like...and those videos you are downloading are VBR, most likely 2-pass encoding.

No...I think *YOU* don't get it

VBR works *opposite* for divx encoding. For the mpeg2encoder it is the *maximum*

For the mencoder encoder it is the *minimum*

The way to do this and get *the best* quality is to use a high bitrate encode, like say, qDVD in forty-two, then split the resultant file.

CBR has nothing to do with this

When we get around to finishing it, we'll be releasing a forty-two helper app that does exactly this.
