Authoring Media is only burnable in TWO DRIVES
THE Pioneer SR-201 and the older 101--
The US PRICE over $2,000 on this DRIVE
The authoring media is also 4.7gig and additionally, MACROVISION may be written to this drive, unlike a general disc which cannot hold macrovision (there are no recordable blocks in this cutting area of the GENERAL MEDIA)Dunno why you'd want -or be permitted to -write MACROVISION TO a one-off tho'

On this site most use GENERAL MEDIA
burnable in all the DRIVES written about here of which the most popular are
    THE DRU-500
    The A03, A04, A05

and those DVD +R's are all "general" (as there are few using +R media for professional authoring)

Both General and Authoring disks can write MACROVISION (it is just a "bit" setting). Neither disks can write a CSS encoded disk that will be readable, because the area where the key would be stored is embossed out.

Those bulk diska at rima.com look suspiciously like those pirate TDK disks being sold.
