SSIA.
Within DVD Decrypter, it only rips at 2x. The drive is supposed to read at 8x, is it not?

The Sony DVD Burners are locked at a max rip speed of 2x on a commercial DVD (Sony is also a movie studio).
So, I got a Lite-On 16x and average ripping at about 7x. Best $40 I have spent in a while. -
Oh.
Small price to pay, I guess ;)
