I'm really debating FINALLY buyind a DVD-R burner. From pretty much all that I've been reading so far says I'm basically just as good off making my SVCD's.

If I come across a single layer DVD, I'm ok with making an actual copy of the DVD including the original menus & extras. If it's dual layer, that's where the problems start. Either I lose the extras, or the compression is bad or some program writes it's own little warnings onto the DVD.

Which for me points to the use of CCE (which I use for all my SVCD's). But, then I run into the problem of the original menu & extras. I want these. I don't do the original menu (I do, do a snapshot) on SVCD, but I try & get some of the extras also. If I'm creating a DVD I for sure want to be able to include these. From what I've read so far there doesn't seem to be any authoring program that creates a DVD using both mepg files AND original VOB's to create a finished DVD.

I may be wrong, I haven't searched EVERYTHING. If you know of a program and/or guide to do what I'm talking about... POST IT.

If I'm not making this long winded question understandable enough, let me know
