Problems Encoding

Hello, my name is Mark. I'm rather new at encoding video and when I heard I can encode WMV to a Quicktime format I had to jump at the chance. I have used ASF convertor in the past, but it doesn't convert everything and I was hoping this would . Whene I press encode after loding the file it "encodes for less than a second and nothing appears anywhere. What must I do to solve this. I would be so greatful if someone could answer this question please. Thanks
