  1. I', using Studio DC10+ to capture in Miro's MJPEG (the only way possible) then after editting my movie, I want to create an AVI file using either Huffyuv or PICvideo to obtain a very good quality file which can be converted to svcd.

Problem is that both huffyuv and picvideo stop at 4Gb which is about half of my 39 minutes movie. The Miro MJPEC codec doesn't have this problem but the quality is too poor to make good svcd's later on

    Any suggestions?

    cheers

Catman, while it is true that NTFS (and for that matter HPFS and several other file systems) allow for files greater than 4GB, the AVI spec does not. While 4GB is the addressable limit for AVIs, many programs cannot create an AVI beyond 2GB (b/c they use signed integers).

This actually affects alot of different A/V codecs since AVI is just a "shell" for data, regardless of the codecs used. PhatRabbit's post points to a pretty good workaround.
