I just purchased Discomvobulator from Kai and Company and the 25$ is well spent. It will split your titles and put them to separate DVDs.
I did a test run with my copy of Star Wars Episode 2 and it split it into 2 DVD's no problems and played great.

Hi ...Thanks for the quick responses...I tried discomvobulator once and I didn't have any luck..I may have been saving to the original Mac volume though...with discomvobulator is it easy to de-select the extras I don't need to make one DVD ?....or as in the Star Wars example is there any way to create a single DVD without using 3 or 4 programs...could you have made it on ONE DVD with discomvobulator ?

What I did was open up SW in Apple DVD player and opened the show info window. The title I was watching was Title 1. It was English and had the Dolby 5.1 sound.
Opened up Disco and told it Title 1 and the audio was 128, the 5.1 (that was in the info for disco) then I hit the button split and waited while it read the DVD.
Once it was done reading and compiling, I could go in and mark the chapters I wanted so I could skip ahead whenever I wanted to. Went to disc 2 and same thing, then clicked on the button to make the DVD's. Waited while Disco made the .iso files and when it was done, burned them with toast and everything was ok. full movie, 2 dvd's no problem. -
But yet we all know that DVD2One has problems opening under VPC because something about its intial pop up window.
There is a way around the error but it will not be posted by myself because we don't need another thread locked
However, using DVD Backup 1.3 to backup and remove CSS then sharing it into VPC does work quite well.

P.S. sbklyn I did write you a PM with step by step methods on how to do it retaining the menus and then one way to just get the movie (and have all the functionality of a VHS) -
I have posted this in a few other topics, but after many many trys with everything app out there I finally came up with a metod that works for me.
since you asked here it is again:
Here is what has worked the best for me for fitting a DVD9 to a DVD5, No menus just the movie but it is shit simple.
01 Rip the main track with DVD Extrtactor.
02 Use Minx Transcoder, setting= fit to DVD, DO NOT select ad pulldowns.
03 take the .M2V file that Transcoder reduced for you, and drop it on MPEG Telecine.
04 Take that resulting .M2V file plus the AC3 file and import it into DVD Studio Pro, build disk.
05 Burn the resulting VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders in Toast.
worked perfectly with TORSTORY2 and CASINO, if you like you can add your own menu and jump points in DVDSP.
you can even play the original dvd and pull up the info pallet in DVD player and note down the time that each chapter starts at and then add markers to the file in DVDSP at these exact points in the movie so that you have the same chapter jump points as the original. I also make up my own still menu to give it that DVD feel. Just used YADE to capture the menus and then edit them in Photoshop.EarlyGrace -
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand why discussing how to get a commercial PC program such as DVD2One to work on VPC is advocating "warez" (and leading, therefore, to a locking of the thread).
It is only warez if the product is obtained and used in violation of the license. If I want to buy DVD2One or download the demo to use under VPC, why is discussion of the product considered a violation of the "no warez discussion" prohibition? How is it any different than, for example, discussing how to get around a compatibility issue with DiscomVOBulator?
If the rule is that no commercial software can be discussed because someone might be using it without the proper license, there are a lot of threads to lock...no mention allowed of DiscomVOBulator, DVD Studio Pro, Final Cut Pro...
If I'm misunderstanding the situation, please forgive me.
It's not my forum, so I'm certainly willing to follow the rules. But I can't easily follow the rules if I don't understand the rules.
Thanks!

Because the version you can download from the dvd2one web site will not run properly
Only way to get it to run at all is to use a non-legal copy. Thats why its considered warez.

Just a note to earlygrace on two points...
Yes it would be easy if I could afford the $1,000 for DVDSP - just can't seem to cross that bridge to make it a cost affordable way to back-up a DVD that I already own. I could buy a lot of extra copies of any movie I want for that spare grand.
Second - language, man - language. It can be "simple", doesn't have to be "XXXX simple." -

Sorry, I sometimes forget how lucky that I have access to the software and hardware that I do. But I am not the only one that has this software, it is mentioned on a regular basis around these forums.EarlyGrace -
Ah! I suspected there was something I wasn't gathering from the cryptic posts.
Of course, if you do hold a legitimate license, using a modified version is a gray area that depends upon how the license is written.
Thanks for the clarification!
