Hey, I'm new and am sure will get beat to death for asking this. I want to back up my DVD's. Time is not an issue, I can leave it run all night. I have been playing with IC and seems to work great. The only DVD I have backed up is BAnd OF Brothers. Watching on my standalone DVD player it looked great. Now doing Trapped and different story. Just using IC I get about 61% quality. Will this be that noticable on my TV and stand alone? Being such a rookie I'd like to keep it simple until I get better. Looked at some of the other docs online here and I'm just getting more confused. Is DVD2One the way to go? Like I said, time is not an issue but I also don't need to back up all the extra crap that comes on a DVD
Thanks for the help in advance

60% is normally acceptable but in the guide I suggest a menu of 60% and 50% for extras leaving the rest fo rthe movie
If the movie requires more then take it from extras, as you never watch them over & over again, but you all see the main menu & movie -
dvd2one is the way to go. its fast and the quality is great. i have done about 35 movies with dvd2one. the only time i noticed quality loss was when i did Apocalypse Now. the movie is 3 hours and 20 minutes long. others i did like the green mile, lord of the rings turn out really good. i couldn't tell the difference between the orginal and the one i copyied.

Which process here did you use then for DVD2One. I see so many to use I don't know which to start with.
MAckem X Printed your too. Figure give em a try. I just want to avoid burning something then it being junk
Thanks all -
I have done about 40 dvd's with DVD2one with no problems on stand alone or psx2 they play back perfect.I use DVD Decripter to rip the movie file then put the files created through DVD2one, put all the files created with dvd2one into a VIDEO_TS folder make an empty AUDIO_TS folder, open prassi dvd select data disc sel dvd writer add VIDIO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and hit go. With 1x media the whole process take under 2 hours even with films 3hours long. Not had a player yet that won't play the disc's created so sticking with this set up and datawrite yellow 1x media.

Episode DVD's are quite difficult to retain the original structure as DVD2One will only do one episode at a time and then whole DVD would need rebuilding. This also appiles to multiangle DVD's
DVD95Copy looks promising but at the moment cannot distinguish between extras & movie titles
It all depends on the user's choice of how much of a DVD they wish to keep and what level of quality that they wish to maintain on the DVD
DVD2One is the best for Movie Only, IC is the best for retaining menu & extras along with quality and DV95Copy looks like it is the love child of both that will get better in time -
Movie only with DVD2one .Disc auto plays no waiting for intro's or menu's to load, useful especialy if you have children also easyer with psx2 if you don't have a dvd remote for it. MackemX is right it's all down to the user's need's .

I guess I should also say the most important to me is video and audio quality. Menus and extras not that important

I was using IC for all my backups. Then I tried DVD2One on a movie. It copied in about half an hour as opposed to 3-4 hours with IC. And the cool thing that I didn't know about DVD2One was it kept the chapters. So if I want to go to a spot in the movie I just advance chapters until I get to were I want in the movie. And the quality was great too.
So from now on I'm going to use DVD2One for most of my backups unless I want some of the extras copied too.
