  1. Is it possible to convert Dvix to DV in Virtualdub (or any other software)? I have tried in vdub but get the following error:

    Cannot start video compression:
    The source image format is not acceptable.
    (error code -2)

    Yes it is possible with a DVcodec that can create DV type 2 avi.
    You must resize to the correct DV resolution 720x576 for PAL or 720x480 for NTSC (and also the correct framerate is needed). You may need to create black borders to fill up the resolution without distroying the aspect ratio. The audio should be with 48 kHz sampling frequency and not compressed (use PCM or wav audio).
