  1. hello i bought a v7700 video card with video in video out capabilities and want to watch tv on my monitor. I live in a dorm and am taking computer science and i need a computer therefore there is no room for a TV. so anyways when i hook up the coaxial cable to the connection on the video card and then i open asus digital vcr and i have good picture but cannot get the audio to work. I have a soundblaster live value audio card and casmbridge soundworks 5 pc speaker/subwoofer set please help me out!!! thank you very much

    i have had your situation occur with my ati all in wonder.

    go to volume control and make sure nothing is muted.

    then to to properties and change to recording and check your recoding inputs

    one may be muxed.

    Click on the mixer, and select the recording from the properties panel.
    Then check Line In (or where you pluged the audio...)
    Also use the recording device you use, and not stuff like "Windows default" etc...

  5. yes i did that with the volume control and still a no go. i was told on irc that i have to have a vcr in order to get audio into my computer?? anyone have any success getting audio into their comp with an asus card?

  6. I have an ASUS and I have no problems.

    In the mixer settings I select line-in as recording source and voila, I have sound.

    You don't need a VCR for that. Make sure that the cable from the ASUS card is connected to the sound-in from your soundcard.
