I have tryed DVDXCOPY, DVD2ONE and InstantCopy for copying movies.

All these programs are good in there own way but for me personally I like to use DVD2ONE.

Why you ask? Because I don't care about menu's or other features and I want to get a movies quickly on to 1 DVD.

The only problem I have found with this program is that you can't do serieses like stargate because it has 4 episodes and DVD2ONE only lets you select one of them.

Does anyone know of a way around this so I can copy stargate with DVD2ONE onto 1 DVD?

Or of another program that I could buy which would do what i'm wanting it to do?

Thanks alot for your time and I look forward to hearing everyones feedback.

  2. if you dont want anything only the episodes, rip just the main vobs that belong to the epdisodes and if they are not already VTS_01 rename them to VTS_01.
next open ifoedit and create ifos for the vobs. make sure create 1 pgc is ticked and create chapter for each cell is ticked. this will create 1 pgc for the lot so when you run dvd2one you will be able to encode the lot in one go.

There's a freeware program called Make-It-easy which when run with DVD2ONE allows you to keep menu/extras. I've used it on StarTrek TNG,Babylon5,Farscape,and The Sopranos. It's excellent. Many Tv episode disks, like the TNG disks use less 100MB's for the extras,so you lose nothing in terms of video qaulity by keeping the menus.
You can use DVD2ONE to "pad" the vob files or M-I-E,in either case you need to update the ifo file with M-I-E.

I have been doing somethine different for series DVDs.

Use Smartripper in movie mode and select an episode. In Stream Options, select the video, the audio track you want and create a new VOB file. Repeat for each episode.

You will then have 4 separate VOBs you can convert.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  7. I copy episode DVD's but select only the episodes I like then re-author them together. I do it like this:

    1. Rip each episode PGC to hd with decrypter

    2. DVD2AVI to get d2v file, make sure FILM is not selected

    3. Re-encode with TMPGEnc at bitrate=2900 - 3000

    4. Re-author with nice menu with only the episodes I like in DVD MAestro

Thats it. Queue the encoding over night of course and now I have episode DVD's of only the episodes I enjoy. TNG, data love episodes make me puke...

    Thanks wulf109

    1) I ripped the Stargate DVD to my harddrive with DVD Decrypter.
    2) I then copied the VOBs to a different folder and made IFOs with Ifoedit
    3) I converted the VOBs with DVD2ONE while leaving 50MB for the Menu.
    4) I then put the VOBs back into the original folder and fixed the ifo with make-it-easy.
    5) I burned it to DVD with RecordNow Max 4.5

It worked no problem on my DVD players and I couldn't notice any difference from the original DVD.

    Thanks everone for your help.

Barry how did you burn the dvd with RecordNow Max?

I also have version 4.5, but I don't see a record DVD option. I Do see a VCD option.

    Thanks!

In RecordNow Max just create a data DVD and copy the VIDEO_TS folder on to it.

    Hope this helps.
