  1. I have a video_ts folder with vob's anf ifo's and bup's that can play in windvd.

How do i convert that to mpeg2 (DVD compliant) without re-encoding. DVD authoring programs can take an mpeg2 (via demuxing) and turn it to a vob so there should be a reverse process.

Will i have to demux to m2v and ac3, join all files, then remux to mpeg2.

My final result i will use with dvdit pe to author.

Okay, maybe i should start from the begining:

I am trying to turn a 2 disc wedding video total 1:40:00 to one disc. However, each disc have a different title menu structure.

Steps i have taken (in parenthesis is the result from this step):

rip disc 1 with decrypter (video_ts with vob's,etc.)
rip disc 2 with decrypter and renamed vobs to be continuation of disc1, moved to disc 1 video_TS
    ifoedit to create ifo
instant copy to turn to 4.3gb (pdi files)
    pdi2iso (iso file)
isobuster to extract files (video_ts with vob and ifo, etc)

now i have the ifo and vob structure of one large movie although the timecodes are not perfect. if i play this on windvd, the time jumps back from 46 minute to 41 minute when the start of the where disc 2 takes place (what did i do wrong? should if ifoedit again aat this point?)

That's where i am; would like to turn this one movie to create my own menu with dvdit pe which accepts mpeg2 dvd compliant files (but i don't think it takes vob's, stangely).

i really prefer not to try any other author programs since i had so much probs with dvd wise.

    thanks,

  2. I did this using Ulead Movie Factory 2 ("import video" or so) which is available as trial. It worked fine.

  3. thanks,

that did the job except 2 problems:

it spit out 13 mpg files. I used combimovie to join them but the timecodes are all messed up. Where disc 2 would have started starts at 0:00 again
shold i rerun ifoedit before running through dmf?

Use AVi/MPEG/RM joiner 2.4 to create a big VOB.
Then use MPEG2VCR to edit what you want, save as MPEG.
Input this MPEG in DVD Movie Factory.
    No reencoding.

  5. If the audio is mp2 then just rename the .vob to .mpg(no re-encoding) or use DVDx to rip certain parts of the DVD to .mpg.
