  1. I can't get my 695MB 90 minute movie to fit on one cd. (I want to make it a VCD.) I've looked at the "Newbies guide to fitting a movie on one cd using TMPGEnc", and I've followed instructions there, but my movie still keeps coming out at over 900MB.

Here's what I have my settings at, they are like ones I found in the guide:
    Under Video Tab:
    Stream type: MPEG-1 Video
    Size: 352x240
Aspect ratio: 4:3 525 line (NTSC)
    Frame rate: 23.976 fps
    Rate control mode: Constant (CBR)
    Bitrate: 912
    VBV buffer size: 40
    Motion search precision: Normal

    Under Advance Tab:
    Video source type: Interlace
Field order: Bottom field (field B)
Source aspect ratio: 4:3 525 line (NTCS, 704x480)
Video arrange method: Full screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)

    Under Sytem Tab:
    Stream type: MPEG-1 (non-standard)

Anybody know what the problem is? The movie is in XVid avi format, does that make any difference? Oh, and if this helps, I have version 2.59 of TMPG.

Thanks so much for any help, it would be ever so greatly appreciated!!

  3. found a reference to change the 'directshow multimedia file reader'.
TMPGEnc...Option...Environmental settings...VFAPI plug-in....right click 'Directshow Multimedia File Reader' and increase priority to 1 or 2.
