Creating a VCD is basically a 4 step process.
    1. Download or create the video. You're already done with this part. An AVI will work just fine.
    2. Convert your AVI to MPEG-1 format. Use TMPGEnc to do this. This site has links to the free software.
    3. Copy the resulting MPEG-1 file to CD specifying VCD format.
    4. Play the CD on your DVD player.

A couple of items to consider.
    1. Make sure your DVD supports VCD format. Most do, but check. There's a link on the main page. Just type in your DVD player and it'll tell you what you need to know.
    2. Some players are picky about the CDs you use. If one doesn't work, try a different type. My DVD only takes CDRWs.
    3. Converting the AVI to MPEG-1 will take some time. Depending on your computer and size of the AVI file, it can take several hours to complete.

    Hope this helps.
