  1. I've been using DVD2One, if a movie was a little too big to fit on one DVD, obviously leaving out any non essentials like multiple soundtracks/ subtitles etc. I'm ripping with DVD Decrypter, only ripping the movie iif it isn't going to fit with all the content.

A few questions, if the ripped movie is, say, 5.5 gigs, and I decide to only include the ac3 6 channel soundtrack, how do I know how much the movie is being compressed?

What does the program do to reduce filesize? I'm assuming it alters bitrates or something, but does this alter depending on how much size needs to be trimmed?

If a movie will fit anyway, and you still run it through DVD2ONE does it leave the movie quality untouched?

    thanks in advance

  2. I believe DVD2one varies the bitrate to make the final file size to be around 4.46GB.

If a ripped DVD's file size will fit on one DVD-R then I just go ahead and burn the files. That way I have an exact copy of the DVD.
