  1. could somone pleeease tell me what the heck is going on with my dvdr drive??
I keep getting this error when i try to rip or burn. it happens just about in the middle, so i cant get anything done. I also just formatted my drive, thinking that it would solve the problem....

  2. I see a SCSI message in there... is it on some scuzzy bus? I'm not too familiar with SCSI cause I've always found them to be a pain in the butt to get set up.

Is this a newly installed drive? or has it been humming right along and now it's acting up all of a sudden?

If it's newly installed, check your jumper settings and make sure master/slave settings are okay. If it's been in there a while, did you install or uninstall any hardware or software right about the time it started acting up?

If all this fails, try taking out one stick of memory, then replacing it and taking out another... see if it still acts up. I recently had my processor go out on me, and that can turn up all kinds of whacky symptoms too.

  3. Try disabling Auto Insert Notification if it's enabled.
Here are a couple of good links about it.

Uninstall the drive and reinstall it, that sometimes works for me.

Also what program are you using for ripping? I use "DVD Decrypter" it seems to be the best.

And lastly you would be better off buying a seperate DVD-ROM for ripping like the Liteon-166. It's really fast and really cheap.

    Hope something there helps.
