    I am trying to convert DV to DivX with AVI Compression Convert v1.1. The quality isn't that great at all, the video plays slower than it is supposed to. I guess this silly little app should be scrapped.
    Can anyone recommend a good top notch program that will convert DV to AVI DivX without making such silly errors?

    Try VirtualDub, or any Divx/xvid encoder. Check the TOOLS section to the left.
