    Hi All,

I was having artifacts when viewing my mpeg2 captured files in my Panasonic v32 dvd player, so I tried everything i could you get those artifacts out. After trying several weeks I went to a friends house and the same burned dvd-rw played perfectly in his old Sony DVD Player.

So yesterday I went to Sears and tried over 12 DVD players.
All the Sonys played the DVD-RW perfectly.
All the Pioneer played the DVD-RW perfectly.
All the Apex played the DVD-RW perfectly.
BUT NONE of the Panasonic! I even tried a $500 Panasonic DVD player!

It's possible that Panasonic decoder is a "cheap" one?

    Any Ideas,

    Regards,
    Jose Febus

  2. Jfe,

I have a Panasonic CV51 5 disc changer, and it has played DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW consistently. I'm quite pleased with the player, as for me it's played everything I can throw at it.

Not sure what to tell you.

    I am really lost!

Even an old SOny play the files perfectly but none of the Panasonics will.

Is there a way I can get the Panasonic spec for reading dvds? Maybe they don't like an specific bitrate.

I suggest not buying Panasonic. I have found them and many other brands to be junk. Stick with Sony, thats where I finally went.

I know that Sony it's great but I found really hard to bealeive that a company as large as Panasonic is having a quality control problem.

    Hi All,

I noticed that if I capture using a GOP strucuture of iiiiiiiiiiiii (13 Is) I get rid of all artifacts in my Panasonic DVD playes.

It's ok to use this structure?

    Thanks for the help!
