Anyone have trouble backing up this movie? i had troubles with ifoedit and DVD2one. DVD2one would lock up and ifoedit gave errors about VOB nav packs or something like that. I want to strip the extra audio/subtitles to fit on 1dvdr. I plan to use DVD2one if its too big.

  2. I also have had trouble with this movie, trying to play it in DIVX Player. Gspot tells me that all of the codecs are installed but I get an "failed to open" message.

  3. I successfully backed up this movie.

First I ripped the main movie PGC using DVD Decryptor (included DVDMaestro chapter file).
    Re-Encoded using DVD2SVCD.
    Re-Authored using DVDMaestro.

BAM this method works like a charm, reauthoring is a definite way to go especially for highest compatibility issues.

  7. The problem w/ this movie is the video_ts.ifo is f*cked up for disc 2. The easy fix is:

Rip and split as usual. Then rip doing using the movie only method. Your first disc will have the original video_ts.* on it and all the bonus materials. The 2nd disc will have the end of the movie on it with its own video_ts.* files that you made when you did a movie only.

Took me a while to figure it out, but it's done now

  8. I used DVDXCOPY 1.4.1 on it, split it too 2 dvd-r's, kept it like I bought it, aside from the multi disc of course, and it went smooth.

  9. Why would you want to back up a chick movie anyways?

  12. I also backed it up w/o problems. DVDDecrypter filemode, DVD2One, IFOedit (to fix subtitle bug), Nero.

  13. Any chance that the different versions may be the issue?

I backed up my Full Screen version without any issues at all although I deviated from the standard methods.

Took me a lot of work but I ended up doing it this way as I didn't want to hack InstantCopy in order to only transcode the video.

    1) I used DVD Decrypter and rip it via IFO and only the movie IFO and VOB.
    2) Renamed the original IFO files to later fix the Subtitle color issue in IFO.
    3) Created a new IFO with the VOB files and then copied the subtitle colors from the old renamed IFO to the new IFO created.
    4) Then ran it through InstantCopy and used the source as HD and just picked the VIDEO_TS directory where my files where located.
    5) When it was done, used PDI2ISO and burnt with DVD Decrypter.

Also, for the heck of it, I took the original files and also ran it through DVD2ONE also without any issues and I'm about to burn that and compare the quality.

To be honest, it was a lot of hassle to mess around with the IFO and other junk just to exclude the extras so I'll probably try to hack my InstantCopy instead and exclude the extras that way. I did noticed that the final output has always been a little over 4 GB.

Anyone know of any drawbacks in hacking it? Sorry, I didn't read all the posts in the forum.

  14. used dvd decrypter, dvd2avi, TMPGenc,Chapter X-tractor, then authored it all together with DVD Meastro where i compiled it into VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders where i then burned with nero and recordnow max. works great! no audio problems, dropped it down to about 4.3 GB. i find that even though this has more steps, it usually works with most movies larger than 4.38 GB, anything under i use ifoEDIT, if a whole movie is under 4.7 GB, is use ISO mode in decrypter and burn the iso in recordnow to DVD-r to make an exact copy ( this way is better than the DVD-X).[/img]
