DVD2SVCD- Ran out of space during CD image #2

I thought the 15GB of space I left would be enough, as it was for the first disc of the movie, but the second disc seemed to take up more space than available. I think I cleared up enough space to fit the rest of the bin file, but I have no idea how to get it to restart the bin file creation without restarting the whole ripping process again?

If someone can tell me how to continue or restart the bin file creation that would be great.

Also, I have left the DVD2SVCD window open and computer on; I will leave it open until someone lets me know it is ok to close it.

If i was in this situation i would look in my c\programfiles\dvd2svcd\movie-folder and see if the finished mpg was there i would then use vcdeasy to make the bin,cue file
i think it all depends at which stage the program stopped

Hi,

First of all, It's Perfectly save to close the DVD2SVCD window ! DVD2SVCD has a very nice recovery function.
Second, what you can do to finish the process is go to the directory where you ripped files are and delete the VOB files. This should give you enough space to complete the process.
What DVD2SVCD does is Rip the (AC3) audio, encode to SVCD MP2, re-encode the VOB to a SVCD compliant MPEG2 Stream. Mux the two to one complete SVCD Audio+Video stream, cut's it into 2 or 3 files which are the size of a cd and then creates images.
Since, at this point, you already have the complete SVCD stream and probably the CD-sized files, you do not need the vob's for anything any more. I used this method on my 20Gb laptop many times.

Have you tried the recover function? just choose where you want Dvd2Svcd to start from, it should then just use the appropriate point it crashed out, try not to change any settings!

Thanks for all the great advice! I managed to figure out the recover function and had to recut the video, but in the end it did work!
