Dear All, I am having some problems while running DVDx 2.0 P4 trying to backup a DVD movie to SVCD. After encoding approximately 1 hr and 40 min of the movie the program stops and and error message is displayed saying "VBV delay overflow=207", this has happpend twice now with the same movie. I have successfully run the DVDx before. My output settings are as follows
    Video bitrate: 2376
    Audio bitrate: 224
    Motion search: High (slow)
    Calculation: P4
    DCT/iDCT: P4 (fastest)
    Rate ctrl padding start: 30%
    Rate ctrl padding max: 90%
    Mux rate: 5.6%
VBV buffer size 112 KB (I guess this has something to do with my problem)
    Zoom: None
    Resize Bilinear P4
    Max frame 153528
I am using PAL system and computer details can be found in my profile above.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem please?
    Best regards Lars

  2. I have noticed that DVDx2.0 produces better(less artifacts) MPEG-1 than version 2.1 and version 2.1 does a better job with MPEG-2.I experimented with the "Rate cntrl padding start"and 50% works for me(less errors).

Dear Moviegeek, Thanks alot! I downloaded DVDx 2.1 and increased the Rate Ctrl Padding Start to 50% as adviced by you and it worked like a charm. 9 and a half hours later I had a perfect backup of the movie Your help is greatly appreciated! Best regards Lars
