  1. I have 2 xvid files I am trying to convert to mpg using tmpgnc that have the same problem. It converts fine for the first say 10 minutes but then the picture freezes (but not the program).
    Any ideas??
    Thanks in advance............

it means that you have bad frames or corrupt data in the video or the audio or both. use divfix to scan for errors or use virtual dub to scan for bad frames and remove them.

I did find some errors with divfix but can someone please explain how to use Virtual dub to search for bad frames and then how to fix them?

  4. Select

    Video
    Scan video stream for errors.

This will take a little while, but when finished it will record the bad frames. and undecodable frames and mask them. You then save as avi with a new file name, using direct stream copy for both the video and audio. The file will be saved minus the masked frames.
