  1. I just did a rip on xXx and the dvd has no sound on Power DVD but has sound on my standalone apex , Any ideas why? Used IFoedit to strip the main movie files, Did I pick the wrong sound to get rid off. to make it work on both.

  2. Sounds like you might have ripped the DTS track, and this will only play if you have a DTS decoder, to make it work on both you would need the DD 5.1 or 2ch track, I normally put both on the disk for best compatability.

  3. There is more to it than that. I made a backup of the movie and the IFO files using Smartripper then used IFO edit to correct. Burned it to DVD and found the following:

Play dvd on computer and PowerDVD gives an error. Play in DVD player and the first 3 min or so will loop and the DVD player indicates MENU on LCD. There is no menu on screen though.

Play files individually with POwer DVD and the first 2 play fine with AC3 audio. 3rd and above files dont have audio in PowerDVD but using ATI multimedia player it has the directors commentary. Opened files with Vobrator and confirmed AC3 in first 2 then the third only has 2 channel audio... clicking it causes an error in Vobrator.

DVD2One will make the file 4.3G although the original will fit on a DVD as is. THe DVD2One files have no audio in any of the files.

Something screwy is going on with this one. I've dinked up my original IFO's and such so I have no choice now but to try recreating IFO files. I may have stripped off something important.

If new IFO's don't work then I'll try demuxing and reencoding. I may be hosed though.... should always make a full back up and keep it pristine until movie is tested.... dummy me. My process has worked 100% up to this movie though.

    Any one else encounter this?
