  1. I create beautiful MPEG-2 files when capturing for an hour. I play it back on my computer, no problems. But the files are aroun 3-4 GB big, and I want to keep it MPEG-2 and convert in TMPGE and compress it down while editing out the commercials.
The MPEG appears to keep getting corrupted. I will be editing out commercials in the 'source range' function in TMPGE and I go to certain frames and it crashes and give you the 'sending an error report' pop up box.
I would love any tips that somebody could give me.
I'm running a 2.0 Ghz, XP, 60 GB hard drive. I have Norton Systemworks and do defrag and and virus scan.

    Hi,

You can try lowering the capture bitrate, so the files will be smaller, and then use tmpeg just for the cutting and merging.

  3. I can do that, but I am fearing that the produced MPEG will still be corrupted, but that would help solve part of the problem I hope.

thanks for the idea, I will certainly try it.

Any more advice would be also much appriciated. Thanks
