Which 1 is > Best DVD Media Brand

Hi everyone

I'm looking for the Best DVD Media Brand name.
Since i'm converting my home video tapes to DVD format that i've been keeping for 15-20 years i need to use the best brand name that is the highest quality and the most reliable (the ones produces less or no coasters).

I don't care about the price for now and i don't really care about (-) or (+) formats. I'm considering to burn my videos on DVD-R's and i would backup files into DVD+RW (lossless linking...).

I see that people are recormmending the Ritek, Apples DVD-R's

Can you suggest your own opinion on DVD-R medias?
Also is this site any good? Meritline.com
Can you suggest any other good sites? I live in East Coast USA.
