well I dont really know if this goes in here but here it goes. I was told that we can legally have a descrambling cable box...and told that it is quite easy to make them I searched the net for free plans...if anyone can help I would appreciate especially that i dunno if american descrambling cable box would work in canada or elsewhere...anybody knows very tired of searching the net with no success (for FREE info)![]()

ask your cable company if its legal.
buying a box or a kit may be legal,but you not paying for the cable chanels isn't,which is thief of service. -
Not sure if it helps any, but in the US I am told that you are allowed to have your own equipment provided it only descrambles the programming you are subscribed to. This is of course to avoid the monthly rental fees that most cable provider charge on the box and remote. Keep in mind though that you may be trading down though and may lose features you currently enjoy. If the new box descrambles additional channels it will be easy for your provider to track and charge you with the additional fees and/or prosecute you for cable theft.
Again, as Zodiac says- check to make certain it is legal first. -
I have older software that I found on the net a while back that would descramble European cable
USA cable is (or was) considerably more complicated and as such there isn't a software solution that I know of.
