  1. I must of read four or five posts where people have purchased ACCU DVD-R's and have had the last 10 or so cause problems. I recently got down to my last 8 and have noticed the same exact thing! I purchased 100 ACCU's. Two seperate 50 pack spindles were sent to me. The first has a bar code on the plastic cover and those are manufactured by Sony.

The second 50 pack spindle are all lead data's. The first 40 Lead Data or so that I burned at 2x gave me NO problems, and they've all been PERFECT. But now, I too, am having freezing, and skipping problems towards the end of the disks. I lost 3 disks because of this now, and I tried one of my Sony which I still have about 48 of and BAMMM! PEFECT..all the way through burned at 2x.

I think this is VERY interesting and ODD, and if ANYONE can explain why SO MANY people are having problems with the last 8-10 disks in their spindle, I would like to hear what could possibly cause this. Because so many people have experienced this, I wonder if these companies had a ton of defects, and they just threw five or ten defective disks at the bottom of every spindle. That seems like the answer, but I'd like to hear what others think. Also, can ANYONE that has experienced this issue say that they have burned at 1x and had the problem resolved? Or have people actually burned some of these at the bottom of the spindle at 1x, and still had the problems? For now, I am going to just use my Sony ACCU"s, but any time I get a movie that is under 4 GB's after stripping, I will just use the Lead Data's for them because I won't be maxing out the space.

Anyway, any info on this would be interesting to hear and read. It may also help to figure out why this problem has occurred with so many people. Thanks

  2. I'm having a problem with a whole spindle of them. I bought 100 disk 4x 25 each and the first one I've open worked for a few disk but they weren't using the full 4.7 Gb I was putting less than 3.5gb of data and seemed to be working fine, I now moved to larged 4.3gb and it fails on every attempt to burn. I've been doing simulations now and they fail always after 75% complete. But I can pop another brand (Princo/Verbatim) in right after and it works fine with no problem.

Now I'm debating do I risk opening the other 3 packs or not... Argh!!!!

  3. Felix, I was hoping to limit this thread to problems with only the last few in the batch. I'm sorry you have had trouble with them all together, but apparently, the ACCU's that come from different sites are all from different manufacturer's. Good luck in the future, but if anyone can please post about the last 25% or so, it would be helpful to many.
