I have tried using ' How to convert to SVCD with TMPGE' and ' DivX(AVI) to (S)VCD using DVD2SVCD on this site.I followed the guides exactly and the resulting mpeg or svcd is not as clear or sharp as the original file.Is there any info out there on a better way.

it can never be even as good as the source because svcd (mpeg2) is a lossy format and no mater what - something is lost ..
