Seems to me I remeber reading in the TMPGEng documentation that it will not convert audio if it is not already at certain pre-set bitrates. Some limitation in the program that only affects AVI source files.

Can't quite remeber what it was but I suggest reading the DOCs carefully about audio conversions.

    Good Luck

  5. I too am having the same problems.. Encoding divx's and i get the picture but no audio.
The audio file is presents and is (for example) 500mb but when you play it in any kind of audio player no sound comes out..
I have at the moment started to use Canopus Procoder and with this I have no problems at all.. The sync of the movie and sound are perfect..
If you find out what is causing this problem in tmpgenc then i would be grateful if you could email me with the solution..

    Cheers

Because TMPG does not handle compressed audio well. If you want to guarantee sound, ALLWAYS extract the audio first as uncompressed .wav, and input that to TMPG. The convert section will tell you how.
