Hi all. I've basically ran out of options to capture hi res video with my ATI TV wonder VE. It comes with max res of 640x240 but I wanted to go for at least 640x480 so I tried iuvcr, virtualdub, virtual vcr, and the btwincap at sourceforge.
virtual dub says on their site that it won't work with ATI's wdm drivers so that was out.
btwincap screwed up my system so bad that I had to reinstall the ATI drivers and MMC 7.1
iuvcr and virtual vcr did not give any picture or sound at all. I've played with every setting and been on their forums but no one can help. It seems to work with the all in wonder cards however.
Has anyone got this card to work with anything? what about the beta MMC 7.6?

i have an ATI TV Wonder VE and i capture at 720x480 using the sourceforge drivers and virtualdub. if the sourceforge drivers screwed up your system, then you probably aren't doing something right. before you install those drivers, you have to totally remove the ATI drivers. and get rid of MMC, its total crap.
Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.

  4. Well, the 7.6beta drivers are CRAP. But the drivers, not MMC.

The main thing is those drivers kill the sound literally. You can only use the mic input, or you won't hear anythihng, and usually have to use the boost option in your sound card.

I figured out that the way to go is with the WDM drivers that come with MMC 7.1 - Use those drivers, but then use MMC 7.6beta (go to the mmc directory after expanding and run that installer instead).

With this and stinky's tool you can do REALTIME SVCD captures (480x480).

I'm not sure if Stinky's tool works with MMC 7.7.

    My .02...
