While I have upgraded to DirectX 9 on most of my computers I haven't yet upgraded my multimedia machine (captures, DVDs, Codecs, Encodes, etc). Is the upgrade going to benefit me or will it mess with my already working configs (DiVx, DVD, etc). This is on a P4 1.8Ghz, 512 meg, DVD-burner / CDRW burner Windows 98SE machine. Still prefer to use this instead of XP (running that on a bunch of others though) for my Video stuff.

  2. I would not upgrade to DirectX9 until I actually had some software that required it to run. I go by the old adage, if it aint broke dont fix it.
