I know this is kind of a lame question, but......
After using VCDEasy to burn using CDRDAO, I've lost all sound on my PC. All my drivers are present and everything seems to be where it should, but I'm getting no sound. I know this is somehow directly related to using CDRDAO.
Has anyone ever encountered this? What can I do to restore sound?
Thanks for any ideas/suggestions in advance.

Ok first things first, is everything plugged in and powered up? Sorry to ask, but it's usually the most obvious that gets overlooked.
I'm not sure about the relevance of CDRDAO, but have a look at:
Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume control
Check all the levels and make sure that you've not muted anything.
Next, check advanced settings - sometimes selecting Digital Output Only (under other controls) 'mutes' the speakers.

Volume control won't even pop up. Something screwy is happening here. It's like my hardware disappeared. WTF?

Is it on-board sound or is it a sound card?
What does it say under control panel>system>device manager?

I have onboard AC97 sound. I tried to reinstall the drivers and it's saying AC97 sound not present. WTF, should I go buy a new sound card?
