I am trying this for the first time, Converting a DVD to DVD, I am on a G4 1.25GhzDual, So far all I get is a welcome and nothing happening.
At least it has not spit my DVD out.
How long before I should expect some results?

I have a Powerbook G4 667. SVCD progressed at about 7fps. DivX encodes progessed at about 5 actual minutes to encode 1 minute of DVD.

Let me explain more, I draged the DVD on to the app window, it atomatically picks track one, I selected DVD to convert to. I then began and prosess.
It has been at least 2 hours and the Progress Bar is still doing the barber pole thing and says Welcome. But no progress has shown up yet? and nothing is showing up in the temp or final folder?
What should I be seeing? anyone anyone?EarlyGrace -
Ya that's not right. It should unmount your dvd, do a Scan A, then Scan B, then encode a certain amount of video, I think Kai said 1 minute. Then it will transfer the video to your hdd in avi format, then encode that video, then encode the audio. It tells you as its doing this as well. If yours just says Welcome still, something's not working right.

Thanks, I fixed the problem by updating from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2.
Seems to be working now.EarlyGrace -
I was wondering if it was supposed to do this?
Scan A
Scan B
Encode Test Clip
Play Test Clip
Xferring Video (Ripping)
Eject DVD (Is it really supposed to do this?)
Encode Video
Encode Audio
Mux
END
Mainly what I'm wondering about, is the eject part. Is it really supposed to EJECT the disk? or just remount it? -
Flip Flop Frog: Why don't you read the manual? Seriously! It is supposed to eject, in case you didn't get that far in your reading...
-
Yea the manual says something to the effect of "When encoding to an .mpg file the DVD will be ejected upon completion of video transfer" then goes on to say that if you do divx it will be ejected upon the completion of the entire conversion. Its not verbatim but its something like that I think. But its normal. Its NOT normal for it to eject before its done transferring the avi file to yer hdd though.
