  1. I ripped my DVD with DVD decrypter and picked the first AC3 6ch sound, but when it is done i have no ac3 file in the folder? What should a typical AC3 file look like? What is the extension usually? Wouldn't it be something like movie.ac3 ? Any help? I am able to burn the dvd in maestro, but i have no sound.

  2. download vobedit.

load the one vob in that directory and demux the .ac3 track.

for whatever reason, dvd decrypter doesn't seem to demux to
.ac3 when you select stream processing/demux.

  4. I did the same thing the first time I ripped a movie. One thing that is easily overlooked:

In dvd decryptor, when you select 'demux' for the video part, you have to click down to the audio file and select 'demux' for that one too. Otherwise you will just get the .m2v file and a .vob file.

    Hope this helps!

In short, you should get an .m2v file AND a .ac3 file if you do it correctly (I use dvd decryptor).

yes, i figured that out. Unfortunately for beginners, most of the guides i have seen on the internet are incomplete. People make the guides but overlook or forget to add certain steps. I figured out how to do everything by looking and reading 5-10 different guides and tons of websites. Not a single guide i read actually worked if you followed it step by step. I think i might make a guide with pictures and everything for beginners. I have found that the way i do it is much easier and less steps than most other people.

    Thanks for the input though.

I have discovered that DVD Decrypter does demux the AC3 file, but gives it a .VOB extension.

So find the VOB that, when played only gives you sound.

Actually, this only occurs if you fail to select the 'demux' option for the audio track. You can't just select 'demux' on the video track only. You have to do them both.

If you do it correctly, you will have a separerate .m2v and .ac3 file (and .dts if you select the dts track).
