  1. Can anybody help. I am trying to convert a XVID avi file to put it on a DVD.

Normally I extra the audio using Virtual Dub or Goldwing or something gold. I extra the audio to 48000. Then give the avi and wav file to TMPGENC and generate the mpg file and the using DVD authoring tool to generate the DVD.

The problem I am having with this avi is that the file is in 44000 audio format and when I convert it to 48000 and then load it into TMPGENC i get an address error NTDLL.DLL (i think). I have converted XVID format before so I think I have the codec needed.

It all seems to work if I generated SVCD instead of DVD. That is why I think the problem is the audio (am I right in thinking that SVCD = 44000 and DVD = 48000)

    Any help would be great.

  3. Thanks for the help.

Which version of TMPGENC is the best to re-install.

I have installed the NIMCO codec, but I have seen several comments about removing that with XVID. If i do that will my DIVX still work etc.

    Thanks

TMPGEnc + 2.59 is just fine, 2.510 has problems. Yes you should get rid of Nimo, then install the codecs separately.
