i was wondering if anyone knew of a dvd copying program that will let me keep the copied dvd-r anamorphic but also let me play it on my tv not stretched out, sorry i don't tknow the correct terms for it, i'm thinking of just copying them with the pictured stretched out cause i will be getting a tv soon that will do the 16X9 compression

It's not like anamorphic is something u can turn on or off. A movie may have a 16x9 and and 4x3 version but if u copy the 16x9 version u will get the anamorphic version if the DVD supports it. There are a bunch of common names for anamorphic like enhanced widescreen ...etc. Older DVD's dont have anamorphic newer ones generally do. Here's a decription of anamorphic, its basically a way of enhancing the picture to look better on 16x9 sets:

So u basically have two choices, copy the 4:3 or 16x9 version of any movies. I copy all 16x9 version because I have a widescreen TV. If I had a fullscreen TV I would still copy the 16x9 and just zoom in. I believe that all 4:3 TV's will be replaced by 16x9 within a few years. In 10 years when u walk into a store u won't even be able to buy a 4:3 TV, jmo though...
