Is there a way to make a connection to the Dish Network PVR 508 so that I will be able to output files of recordings in MPEG format rather than having to take the analogue output and then encode it? I know this can be done by removing the hard disk temporarily etc. but I'm interested to know if there's a way to do it without opening the case. What about the accessory socket on the back of the 508, are there connections I can use for this purpose?
